Dr. Marianne Gorlyn


Dr. Gorlyn graduated from Barnard College with an undergraduate degree in Psychology. She attained Masters and PhD degrees in Clinical Psychology at Fordham University, with a neuropsychology internship at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She subsequently completed post-doctoral training in neuropsychology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons/New York State Psychiatric Institute, where she currently holds the position of Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology (in Psychiatry) and conducts research related to cognitive dysfunction in depression and suicidal behavior. Dr. Gorlyn has authored many articles published in psychology and medical journals, and presented her findings at professional scientific conferences in the US and abroad. She is licensed as a psychologist in both New York and New Jersey, and sees patients in Ridgewood and Manhattan.

Dr. Gorlyn's training and clinical experience encompass assessment of cognitive and behavioral disorders across the life-span, from identifying neurodevelopmental and learning disorders in children and adolescents, to evaluating cognitive problems associated with aging and neurodegenerative diseases in adult and geriatric populations. She has particular expertise in psychiatric diagnosis and symptom management (including ADHD, OCD, Psychotic Disorders, Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders and Personality Disorders). In addition to neuropsychological, psychological and educational evaluations, Dr. Gorlyn provides psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, and families, as well as parenting support for behavioral and learning disorders.
